"Hal itu dilakukan agar menjamin keamanan bagi konsumen maupun masyarakat yang akan membeli produk makanan yang dijual di super market," kata Ketua Yayasan Lembaga Konsumen Indonesia (YLKI) Sumut, Abubakar Siddik, di Medan, Rabu.
Ia juga menyesalkan adanya super market di Kota Medan yang mencampurkan produk makanan berlabel halal dengan yang tidak berlabel halal.
Hal tersebut merupakan hasil temuan dari Dinas Ketahanan Pangan Kota Medan yang melakukan inspeksi mendadak (sidak) produk pangan yang dijual di pasar modern.
"Ini jelas sangat berbahaya dan tidak boleh dibiarkan.Jika perlu diberikan tindakan yang tegas, karena dapat merugikan masyarakat," ujar Abubakar.
Ia menjelaskan, super market yang menggabungkan dalam satu tempat produk makanan non halal dengan produk makanan halal, merupakan pelanggaran yang cukup berat.
Selain itu, cara pemasaran yang seperti itu, juga dapat membingungkan masyarakat yang akan membeli produk makanan tersebut.
"Bisa saja terjadi kelalaian bagi konsumen yang akan membeli produk makanan halal, dan justru yang terambil adalah produk makanan non halal," ucap dia.
Ia menyebutkan, jika terjadi peristiwa seperti itu, siapa yang harus bertanggung jawab, hal ini juga perlu dipikirkan secara arif dan bijaksana.
Sehubungan dengan itu, untuk menjaga hal-hal yang tidak diingini, maka pengelola super market agar memisahkan tempat produk makanan non halal dengan produk makanan halal.
"Kita tidak ingin terjadi kekecewaan terhadap konsumen maupun masyarakat yang membeli produk makanan yang dipasarkan di super market," kata Ketua YLKI Sumut itu.
