"Belum ada, tidak ada di Sumut," tegas Kepala Dinas Kesehatan Sumut Ismail Lubis, Rabu (5/1).

Berdasarkan informasi yang diterima Ismail, warga Medan yang sempat terpapar Omicron telah dinyatakan negatif setelah menjalani perawatan.
Untuk mengantisipasi kemungkinan adanya varian Omicron, pihaknya akan mengirimkan sampel setiap pasien positif Covid-19 ke Balitbang Kesehatan di Jakarta.
Bahkan, Dinkes Sumut pun telah menyurati seluruh dinkes kabupaten/kota agar setiap pasien positif COVID-19, sampelnya dikirim ke Balitbang Kesehatan.
Tujuannya untuk mengetahui pasti, ada atau tidaknya pasien yang terpapar varian Omicron.
"Kita kirim surat ke kabupaten/kota, kalau ada pasien positif, kita harapkan dinas terkait mengirimkan sampel pasien ke Balitbang Kesehatan," ujarnya.
Sementara terkait data COVID-19 di Sumut dalam sepekan terkahir, ungkap Ismail, masih menunjukkan kondisi melandai.
Bahkan, kondisi bed occupancy rate (BOR) Rumah Sakit di Sumut per 4 Januari 2021 jumlahnya nol.
Begitu juga dengan pertambahan kasus per tanggal 4 Januari 2021, tercatat tidak ditemukan sama sekali adanya pasien COVID-19.
"Angka kasus kita nol, data kemarin ya. BOR kita pun nol. Insya Allah kita berikhtiar, kita berdoa perkembangan di COVID-19 di Sumut tetap melandai," tuturnya.
